What you get

Site mail sent through a delivery service

All site mail

Every message sent with wp_mail goes through the provider, not only form notifications.

One provider sends

With several on, the first fully set up one sends: SendGrid, then Mailgun, Postmark, Amazon SES.

Status in the popup

The settings popup says which provider is sending, or that mail still goes through the web server.

Headers kept

From, Reply-To, CC, BCC and HTML or plain text carry over to the provider.

Failures reported

A refused message makes wp_mail return false and fires wp_mail_failed, so it isn’t sent twice.

Test from Email Settings

Send Test Email in the Email Settings module goes through the provider that’s sending.
How it works

Up and running in three steps

01

Turn on a provider

Switch on SendGrid, Mailgun, Postmark or Amazon SES under Hash Form > Modules and click Save.

02

Add credentials

Open the module’s settings popup, fill in its key and other fields, then click Save Settings.

03

Send a test

Use Send Test Email in the Email Settings module to check delivery.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Still wondering about email delivery? The documentation covers every setting, and we are happy to help.

Does this only cover Hash Form emails?

No. It handles every message the site sends with wp_mail, including form notifications.

What if a provider is only half set up?

It’s skipped, and mail keeps going out through the web server until its required fields are filled in.

Does mail fall back to the web server if the provider refuses it?

No. wp_mail returns false and the failure is reported through wp_mail_failed, so a message the provider may have accepted isn’t sent twice.

Are attachments sent?

SendGrid and Postmark send them. Mailgun and Amazon SES send the message without attachments and note that in the debug log when logging is on.
