Let buyers pay with PayPal

Buyers approve the payment on PayPal, then the order is captured when they come back. Only a completed capture for the amount on record marks the entry paid.

What you set up

  • PayPal module
  • Sandbox Mode / Live Mode
  • Client ID
  • Client Secret
  • Approve on PayPal
    The buyer is sent to PayPal to approve the order.
  • Captured on return
    The order is captured when they return, and only a completed capture counts.
  • Refunds in WordPress
    Refund all or part of a PayPal payment from Hash Form > Payments.

PayPal is offered only on forms priced in one of the 25 currencies it lists.

How it works

Set up PayPal in three steps

Switch on PayPal

Turn on the PayPal module under Hash Form > Modules, then click Save.

Add your app keys

In the cog settings, choose a mode and add the Client ID and Client Secret.

Offer PayPal

Pick one of PayPal’s currencies in Payment Settings and add a Payment field.

Is money taken when the buyer approves?

The order is captured when the buyer returns to your site. An order that isn’t captured is never marked paid.

Can I test PayPal first?

Yes. Choose Sandbox Mode and enter your sandbox Client ID and Client Secret.

What if my form uses another currency?

PayPal isn’t offered on that form. Choose a currency PayPal settles in, or use another gateway.
