Is spam protection free?

Yes. Google reCAPTCHA v2 and v3 are free. Pro adds hCaptcha, Turnstile, Math Captcha, Akismet and a honeypot.

Which options are least intrusive?

reCAPTCHA v3 and Cloudflare Turnstile usually work without a visible challenge.

Do I need a third-party account?

reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha, Turnstile and Akismet use keys from those services. Math Captcha and the honeypot need none.

Can I limit repeat submissions?

Yes. One Entry Per Person under Settings > Restrictions matches logged-in visitors by account and guests by IP address.
