Messages go through Mailgun without attachments.

What you can do with Mailgun

Domain-based sending

Messages are sent through the Sending Domain you enter in the settings popup.

US or EU region

Choose US or EU under Region to use that Mailgun API host.

Headers carried over

From name, Reply-To, CC and BCC are passed to Mailgun with each message.

Skipped until complete

Mailgun only takes over once both API Key and Sending Domain are filled in.

Sending status shown

The popup confirms “This site is sending its email through Mailgun.” once it’s active.

Failures surfaced

Mailgun’s own error message is passed to wp_mail_failed when a send is refused.
How it works

Set up Mailgun in three steps

Turn on Mailgun

Switch on Mailgun under Hash Form > Modules and click Save.

Fill in the details

Enter API Key and Sending Domain, choose the Region, then click Save Settings.

Confirm it’s sending

Reopen the popup to see that the site is sending its email through Mailgun.

Which region is used by default?

US. Choosing EU under Region sends requests to Mailgun’s EU API host instead.

Are attachments supported?

No. Mailgun messages are sent without attachments, and the skipped files are noted in the debug log when logging is on.

What happens before the domain is filled in?

Mailgun is skipped and mail keeps going through the web server until both API Key and Sending Domain are saved.
