    A Pay with Braintree page loads the Drop-in with a fresh client token.
  • Nonce, not card
    Only the payment method nonce is posted back to your site.
  • Charged on Pay Now
    The nonce is charged through Braintree’s GraphQL API straight away.

Braintree asks for one public and private key pair per mode.

Sandbox Mode

Sandbox keys send payments to Braintree’s sandbox, and Live Mode to production.

One charge per entry

An entry that is already paid, or has a charge in progress, is not charged again.

Declines caught

Only authorised or settling transactions count, and anything else is treated as declined.
How it works

Set up Braintree in three steps

Turn on Braintree

Switch on the Braintree module under Hash Form > Modules and click Save.

Add your key pair

In the cog settings, choose a mode and add the Public Key and Private Key.

Add the field

Set the amount in Payment Settings and add a Payment field that offers Braintree.

Does my site see card numbers?

No. The Drop-in collects the details and hands your site a payment method nonce to charge.

Do I need a merchant ID?

No. The settings ask only for the public and private key of the mode you choose.
