Buyers pay on a checkout page on your site, in card fields supplied by 2Checkout’s own script. The IPN keeps each payment up to date after checkout, including fraud reviews and refunds.

What you set up

  • 2Checkout module
  • Test Mode / Live Mode
  • Merchant Code
  • Secret Key
  • 2Pay.js card fields
    The card is typed into 2Checkout’s frame, and only a token reaches your site.
  • 3-D Secure
    When the card’s bank asks, the buyer is sent to authenticate and brought back.
  • IPN URL
    Paste the IPN URL into 2Checkout to receive later changes to each order.

Test Mode places test orders on your 2Checkout account, so nothing is charged.

Billing details

The card page asks for the name on card, an email for the receipt and a billing address.

Fraud review

An order that 2Checkout’s fraud review denies is marked failed.

Refunds recorded

A refund or reversal reported through the IPN marks the payment refunded.

Amount checked

A completed order must match the amount and currency on record, before or after tax.

Declines paused

Repeated declines on an order pause card attempts for a while.

Signed checkout link

The card page only opens from the link the form issues, and that link expires.
How it works

Set up 2Checkout in three steps

Turn on 2Checkout

Switch on the 2Checkout module under Hash Form > Modules and click Save.

Add your API keys

In the cog settings, pick a mode and add the Merchant Code and Secret Key.

Connect the IPN

Copy the IPN URL into 2Checkout’s IPN settings with the SHA-2 or SHA-3 hash enabled.

Which secret key does it need?

The API Secret Key from Integrations → Webhooks & API, not the old Private Key, Publishable Key or Buy-link Secret Word.

Do I need the IPN?

It keeps payments up to date after checkout: fraud reviews, refunds and 3-D Secure orders that finish later.

Is there a test mode?

Yes. Test Mode places test orders on your 2Checkout account, and the card page says no money will be taken.
